I made it! I can’t believe I’m here already.
I took a taxi to Fort Story and got all squared away. I have a fridge AND a microwave! I share a room with one other female, and there’s a bathroom in the room. Score!
So it seems like this is a bit of a free weekend before the cycle officially starts on Sunday at 1400. I’m grabbing dinner at the DFAC with some females before the concert for the new cycle at 1815. One of my battle buddies from Basic is performing – I hope I’m able to catch up with her!
This morning, I ran a quick 5k with Will and Maggie – 7:35 pace – even though Will doesn’t run regularly, he still hung in there for a good bit! And we saw a heron, which is always a good sign! Here’s our last family picture for a while 😦 but it’s still cute!
We got to the airport in plenty of time, even with the Giant Eagle stop for a Justin’s peanut butter packet. Breakfast just isn’t complete without a banana and peanut butter!
Will got me an early birthday present – a mantra band that says, “She believed she could, so she did.” Love it!
We had one last fling over in Ellet last night – Artisan Coffee for an almond milk chai, and then we popped in to the Brick Oven Brew Pub because I’ve heard good things about it. Both places are pretty sweet!
Now I can’t decide if I should go practice for a bit or check out the commissary. I always like to see what the food is like when I get somewhere new, so… I shall keep you posted! There are different brands in different states, and who knows what the peanut butter situation or the bar situation is like here? I should go find out 🙂
Have a great weekend, everyone!
